Our story...
Chocolate Horse was founded in 2004 by Candace Bentel, a freelance graphic designer living and working in Johannesburg, South Africa.
I am truly grateful to be able to do what I love every day. I am passionate about developing brands and welcome every challenge and opportunity to explore and enhance my talents. My experience has taught me to never limit myself by what I think I can do. I enjoy being able to solve problems and to use my creativity in new ways. I am able to assist with everything from a simple logo to full brand development and roll-out, brochure, newsletter, leaflet and annual report design as well as various print and web design applications. I have been involved in the graphic design and branding industry for almost two decades and began my career at Peripheral Operators as an Intern and Junior Designer after completing my one-year certificate/two-year Diploma course in Graphic Design at AAA School of Advertising. I had extensive experience in the Annual Report industry while working for Russell and Associates from 2001 to 2004 handling annual reports for clients such as Anglo Gold, Anglo Platinum and Impala Platinum.
In November 2004 I decided to freelance and open my own design studio, and Chocolate Horse was born. A strategic design and brand company that is focused and intent on delivering world-class and strategically relevant design.
In 2016 Divan van den Berg joined the team with more than 12 years experience in the graphic and print design industry focussed on delivering practical solutions with quick turn around times. His knowledge and experience have made him a valuable asset to the company and his can-do attitude also contributes towards Chocolate Horse’s success. With his constant connection between online media and branding, clients can rest assured that their project will be handled professionally and efficiently.
Chocolate Horse offers more than a decade of leading design agency experience coupled with a passion for branding and design for any size company, Big or small. Our experience and expertise encompass a wide range of branding and graphic design disciplines but most importantly a commitment to great design.
